Ms.Casey Sefton
Owner / Instructor
Ms. Casey began dancing at age 7 and joined the Competition Dance Team at the age
of 8. Casey has taken full advantage of any extra training opportunities through
Conventions, Competitions and Camps in and out of state. In her 16 years of dance
she has trained in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Gymnastics, Theatrical, Hip Hop
and Modern. She has won may awards and Scholarships. Her first at the age of 12 at
the American Heritage Dance Convention. Later being picked to train in New York as
a K.A.R. Kid. Then travailing to North Carolina on scholarship for a dance intense
program through Dance Revolution. She has also been involved in community benefit
shows "Christmas at the Heritage and Mayville and North Branch Christmas Benefits.
She attended a summer at Blue Lakes Dance Academy and was chosen to perform there. Casey has won
Outstanding Performance and Peoples Choice awards at Dance Et Cetera Dance Camp. Casey began
assisting at the age of 13 and teaching at the age of 17 before opening her own Dance Studio. Casey
continues updating her dance technique by taking classes at dance Conventions, her latest in Dallas TX with
Dance Revolution and training in Kalamazoo MI with Music Works Teacher's Tour. Casey is excited about
another year of dance and hopes her dancers enjoy learning as much as she enjoys teaching them.
Ms. Jenice Groth
Instructor
Ms. Jenice has over 13 years of dance experience. She attended Lapeer Academy of Dance at a
young age. She has studied in Modern, Ballet, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Gymnastics, Pom Pon, and
Cheerleading. This is Jenice's fourth year at Step N' Stars. She has been with us from the start of
our business. Jenice has participated in several charity events and used her dance and choreography
skills as a dance coach for local schools as well as helping to coach for talent shows. Jenice was a
cheerleader and is presently the dance coach for the adult Lady Lions Cheerleaders of Lapeer County.
She has traveled to many conventions. She continues to update her dance skills by taking classes at dance conventions and
attended the Musicworks Teachers Tour. Aside from dance, Jenice has a business degree in Administrative Business
Management and puts that to use with her own business of event planning. Jenice has years of experience working with
children. Not only is she a mother of 3, she has a background in various areas of psychology, CPR,and first Aid. Aside
from dance, Jenice has a serious passion for dance and choreography and makes her classes FUN while learning !
**Ms. Jenice is engaged to Todd Sefton, so we also welcome her to our family as well as another fantastic year of dance!**
Ms. Shanon Rogers
Instructor
Ms. Shanon has been dancing at the Flint School of Performing Arts
for 11 years. She is a member of Flint youth ballet and has traveled
to Kansas,St. Louis and Indiana to participate at Regional Dance America
Conventions. Shanon has attended Jofferey Midwest Workshop Master
Classes for a summer and each winter while in high school she has performed
the nutcracker Ballet at Whiting Auditorium. Shanon has assisted for
4 years at Flint, and used her chorography skills last summer for their
summer intense Program. This is Ms. Shanon’s third year with us and our ballet students have shown remarkable
progress. Shanon continues her college education and continues to take classes at Flint School of performing Arts while
she teaches here and we feel lucky to have her. Ms. Shanon hopes her students can excel in ballet just as she has.
Mrs. Laura Sefton Office Manager / Instructor
Laura manages the office at Step N' Stars. She has been involved with dance for 16 years. Attending Conventions and Competitions with Casey. She has been taking Tap Classes for 9 years and Jazz for 2 year and attended health and Exercise classes thorough out the area. If you have been wanting to get in shape now is the time. Take the Adult Work out Class while your child is dancing.

Mrs. Ashley Robertson
Instructor
Ms. Ashley recently got married on February twenty-third of this year. She has been
dancing since she was four years old. Soon after her first year of dance, she began to dance in competition groups. She
has taken classes in all areas of dance. Ashley took classes in Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Modern, and Ballet. She has
done solos and duets, and danced for fund raisers, special events, Christmas programs, local competitions, nationals, and
worlds. She stopped dancing when she graduated from Lapeer West and started attending Baker College. At Baker she
has earned her Associates in Early Childhood Education, an Associates as a Para-Professional (teachers assistant), and I
am in my last year of my Bachelors of Mathematics which will allow her to teach K-8 grade. Ashley will start her student
teaching this fall and will graduate from college in spring 2009. She is very excited to get back into dancing and can’t
wait to start teaching classes in the fall. Ashley would like you to think of her as not only your dance teacher or your
child's dance teacher but also a friend. If there is anything she can do to help this year be great or if you have any
questions please feel free to talk to her. So let’s put on them dancing shoes and have a great year!
Miss. Lauren Schultz
Instructor
Lauren is a senior at Lapeer East High School. She has taken dance classes since
she was 4 years old. Her classes consist of Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical,
and Modern. Lauren joined our studio 2 years ago joining the competition Dance Team
and taking all the classes she could to improve her skills. Lauren has attended and
competed at convention throughout MI and in Indiana winning many awards for her group
dances and with her solos. She has won scholarships to attend New York and Chicago.
We are glad to have Lauren on Staff and she hopes her students will
enjoy and learn the love for dance as she does.
